Mid-Atlantic Youth Services, Corp. (MAYS) offers a full court gymnasium and cardiovascular room at each facility.
Youth will be involved in structured recreational programs on a daily basis to promote positive self-image and self-esteem.
There are health and fitness activities scheduled in the school and clinical programs. In addition to physical education during school,
scheduled physical activity will occur at least three times per week. Particular emphasis is placed on development of healthy,
drug-free leisure activities that can become a part of a solid program of recovery.
Community Service
Community service projects will occur within the program on an ongoing basis. Additionally,
youth that are demonstrating positive changes will be eligible to perform community service.
Religious/Spiritual Services
All residents are afforded the opportunity to practice their religious faith and participate in
religious activities. Programming is designed to provide opportunities for religious expression through the use of volunteering ministers,
priests, etc.
Home Visits/Passes
When appropriate, youth may be approved to participate in a home visit/overnight stay to
provide the opportunities to practice new behaviors/ skills, to improve family relationships, and to solidify aftercare plans
and resources. Passes will only occur when approved by the sending court and in accordance with the JCJC Home Pass standards.
